SellMate (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a platform that helps Facebook sellers manage their inbox, orders, and customer conversations. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Facebook Data

When you log in with Facebook, we receive:

  • Your Facebook User ID and name
  • Your email address (if available from Facebook)
  • The list of Facebook Pages you administer
  • Page Access Tokens for the Pages you choose to connect
  • Messenger messages sent to and from your connected Facebook Pages
  • Customer names, profile pictures, and message content from Messenger conversations

1.2 Store Data

You voluntarily provide:

  • Store name, description, and contact information
  • Product catalog (names, prices, descriptions, images)
  • Order details (customer name, phone, address, order items)
  • Settings (AI instructions, business hours, policies, FAQs)

1.3 Technical Data

  • IP address, browser type, and device information
  • Authentication tokens and session cookies
  • Usage logs for security and debugging

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Messenger management: Receive and reply to customer messages on your Facebook Pages using AI
  • Order management: Track and organize orders from Messenger conversations
  • Product recommendations: AI searches your product catalog to answer customer questions
  • Notifications: Send you alerts about new orders and messages via WhatsApp, Telegram, or push notifications
  • Analytics: Show you conversation and sales insights
  • Authentication: Verify your identity and maintain your session

3. Facebook Data Usage

SellMate is a Meta Developer platform that uses the Facebook Graph API and Messenger API. We use your Facebook data specifically to:

  • Receive Messenger messages via webhook subscriptions on your Pages
  • Send AI-generated replies to your customers on your behalf
  • Sync missed inbox messages to ensure no customer is ignored
  • Display Page name and connection status in your dashboard

We do not use your Facebook data to:

  • Sell to third parties
  • Post on your Page without your explicit action
  • Share your customer data with other sellers or businesses
  • Use your data for advertising purposes

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers with encrypted connections. Page Access Tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. Authentication is handled via signed JWT tokens. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

  • Meta/Facebook: To send and receive Messenger messages via their API
  • Google (Gemini AI): To generate AI replies using your store context (product info, policies). Message content is sent to Gemini for reply generation only.
  • Courier services: Order tracking information when you book a shipment
  • Cloud hosting: Our hosting provider for server infrastructure
  • Legal authorities: If required by law

6. Data Retention

  • Messenger conversations are retained for as long as your account is active
  • Order data is retained for the lifetime of your account
  • Product catalog data is retained until you delete it or close your account
  • Facebook user tokens are refreshed on each login and removed on disconnect
  • When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days

7. Your Rights

  • Access: You can view all your data through the dashboard
  • Deletion: You can request data deletion at any time via email or through Facebook’s app removal flow. See our Data Deletion Policy
  • Modification: You can edit your store settings, products, and AI instructions at any time
  • Disconnection: You can disconnect your Facebook Page at any time from the Messenger settings
  • Account closure: You can request account closure, which triggers complete data deletion

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (AUTH-TOKEN) and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Google Analytics may be used on the marketing site for aggregate traffic analysis.

9. Third-Party Services

  • Meta/Facebook: OAuth login, Messenger API, Graph API
  • Google Gemini: AI-powered reply generation
  • ePBX.bd: Automated order confirmation phone calls
  • Courier partners: Steadfast, Pathao, RedX for shipment booking

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

10. Children’s Privacy

SellMate is intended for business use only. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us for immediate removal.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of SellMate after changes constitutes acceptance.
