Data Deletion Policy

Last updated: August 2026

SellMate respects your right to control your data. This policy explains how you can request deletion of your data and what happens when you do.

1. Automatic Deletion via Facebook

When you remove SellMate from your Facebook account (via Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites → Remove), Facebook sends a data deletion request to us automatically. Upon receiving this request, we:

  • Delete your Facebook User ID and associated user access token
  • Delete all Messenger connections and their encrypted page access tokens
  • Delete all Messenger conversations and messages
  • Delete all customer data collected from Messenger
  • Unsubscribe your Pages from our webhooks

This process is completed within 30 days of receiving the request. You will receive a confirmation from Facebook once the deletion is processed.

2. Manual Deletion Request

You can request data deletion at any time by contacting us:

Please include “Data Deletion Request” in the subject line and your registered email or Facebook name. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm via email.

3. What Gets Deleted

When you request data deletion, the following is permanently removed:

  • Store account (name, email, settings, AI instructions)
  • Facebook User ID, user access token, and page access tokens
  • All Messenger connections and webhook subscriptions
  • All Messenger conversations and message history
  • All customer data (names, phone numbers, addresses from orders)
  • Product catalog (names, prices, descriptions, images)
  • All orders and order history
  • Landing pages and custom domains
  • Call logs and courier shipment records
  • Analytics data associated with your store

4. What May Be Retained

We may retain minimal data for legal, security, or accounting purposes:

  • Anonymized usage logs (no personally identifiable information)
  • Billing records (if required by tax law)
  • Security audit logs (IP addresses) for up to 90 days

5. Disconnecting a Single Page

If you want to disconnect one Facebook Page but keep your account, go to Dashboard → Messenger → Actions → Disconnect. This removes the page access token and webhook subscription for that page only. Your account and other pages remain active.

6. Deletion Timeline

  • Immediate: Webhook subscriptions removed, AI replies stopped
  • Within 48 hours: Facebook tokens, connections, and active sessions deleted
  • Within 30 days: All remaining data (conversations, orders, products) permanently deleted
